Founder - Mark V. Silis
Silis served as MIT’s Vice President for Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) and Chief Information Officer from 2019 until 2025. The capstone of a nearly 30-year journey that he began as an MIT undergraduate in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science and spanned an entrepreneurial stint in Silicon Valley and Europe during the dot-com boom, and later 20-year career at MIT IS&T, with prior roles of progressive responsibility until his appointment as MIT CIO.
With his deep experience and understanding of technology innovation and in-depth technical knowledge, Silis led MIT in driving the overall vision for its technology ecosystem in support of MIT’s research and education mission.
Silis served as a senior member of MIT’s academic leadership and co-chaired its Information Technology Governance Committee (ITGC), overseeing the development of information technology strategy and cybersecurity policy for all of MIT. He served as a founder and board member of the Northern Crossroads (NoX), Massachusetts Green High Performance Computing Center (MGHPCC) and worked closely with the leadership of MIT’s Office of Research Computing and Data (ORCD) to ensure strong coordination in the comprehensive advancement of MIT’s computational research mission.
Board Advisor - Christopher J. Silis
Silis a highly accomplished executive advisor with deep, cross-sector expertise spanning telecommunications, logistics, real estate acquisition and development, and data center infrastructure strategy. Over the course of his career, he has held influential leadership roles at some of the world’s most prominent organizations, including Boldyn Networks, Amazon, and Microsoft. At each of these companies, Christopher played a critical role in advancing strategic initiatives, scaling infrastructure operations, and driving long-term business growth.
His work has been instrumental in shaping forward-looking strategies in the development and acquisition of mission-critical infrastructure assets, including data centers and large-scale network systems. With a strong foundation in both operational execution and high-level planning, Christopher offers a unique ability to align technical innovation with business objectives. As a board advisor, he brings a wealth of experience, a global perspective, and a proven ability to guide organizations through complex, transformative challenges.
